GaGa Getting Sued Over Charity Wristbands

Lady Gaga is facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit over the sale of wristbands she created to raise funds for relief efforts in Japan. Well no surprise with this headline!

Gaga designed the fashion accessory in the aftermath of the country's devastating earthquake/tsunami disaster in March and sold them to fans with the proceeds going to clean-up programs. Great idea but attorneys from a law firm in Michigan filed a class action lawsuit against the star on Friday the allegation - she overcharged fans for shipping costs on the wristbands and pocketed a portion of the extra postal costs.

The $5 million suit names Gaga (Stefani Germanotta) and a number of her affiliated companies. The lawsuit states statutory damages, including a refund for all of the plaintiffs who bought wristbands.

Alyson Oliver, partner of the 1-800-Law-Firm, says, "While we commend Lady Gaga for her philanthropic efforts, we want to ensure that claims that 'all proceeds will be donated to Japan’s earthquake relief efforts' are in fact true. Our intention with this lawsuit is to uncover any improprieties committed by Lady Gaga and appropriate the full donations assumed to the victims in Japan.”

Add some irony to the story - Last week, Gaga was commended for her charity efforts by officials in Japan, while she performed at the MTV Music Video Aid Japan Show on Saturday! Mmmmm.

Over Priced Jacket With A Future Cause

The most expensive jacket sold no surprise is the red-and-black leather jacket pop icon Michael Jackson wore in his 1983 music video for Thriller. that may shock you it went for $1.8 million at auction Sunday.

Let's be real for a minute almost 2 million for a freaking jacket, maybe with that money some of us would buy a house, or a car for that price but a red jacket ? Though we are not all millionaires.

Texas gold trader with the $1.8 million price tagged jacket of course breaks the previous jacket record of $49,185, which was set in September 2000 when a jacket that once belonged to Jimi Hendrix sold at auction to the Hard Rock Cafe chain, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Though the good news is the Gold trader Milton Verret said he plans to use the jacket to raise money for children's hospitals around the world. One can hope he raises more than $1.8 million;  either way at least the jacket will make money for some children in the world.

A No Show Costs!

Young Jeezy was a no show and now is going to court as he should expect. Jeezy was to perform at the 2011 Splash in the Virgin Islands though did not make the flight and cancelled all in 12 days before the show. The organizers even went as far as to get him a private jet yet he flaked. Now the company is suing for fraud, $75,000 in damages amount other things.

Again I state this, your booked you either perform or cancel in a reasonable amount of time because time is someone's money. Sadly in the entertainment world a no show to work does not get you fired and larger stars can get away with this behaviour. These artists do not even think of the costs to the organizers and others or even the fans who bought tickets to see one perform. At the end of the day the no show that soon affects the company hugely. At all levels it's a reminder to get everything in writing. No shows are always a risk thus everything should be detailed in cancelations and what time frame one can cancel. In any agreement write it out and agree what is expected, if one breaks it then one can be held accountable on either side of the agreement.

With no doubt Jeezy just flaked and cost a company money especially with a private jet booked. It's called respect and when people go out on a limb like that to fill your crazy demands at least you can show up and do your "job". I guess Young Jeezy forgot it was his job to show up and perform as a artist.

MF Greens – The Monthly Find – Ty Segall

Music lovers, it has been too long hasn’t it? Well I come bearing good news and a great find. And that find is Ty Segall.

Ty Segall is an American singer/songwriter from San Francisco who is in love with the fuzz pedal and an expert in trippy vocals. Imagine The Vines (in their good days) meets progressive and kick ass rock – it is totally awesome.

The great songs are “Finger,” “Caesar,” and “Girlfriend.” “Finger” is a personal favourite as it begins with a trippy Beatles like melody over clean guitar and then rips into an aggressive fuzzed out track. It’s super catchy and gets the blood flowing. “Girlfriend” is just an all around fun and upbeat tune. And yes, The Vines like trippy and melodic vocals are killer on this track. CHECK HIS SITE OUT

So as always, press that repeat button and keep on rocking!

Hockey Music!

Maybe a song for the Stanley cup Playoff 's this year would be "Hit Somebody! (The Hockey Song) - Warren Zevon" To go along with this Canadian song the number of Canadians that are playing in the Final is 57% of the players - the Bruins have 17/26 players, Vancouver has 17/32. Though all in all it has not been the cleanest final period. One could of mistake these teams for Montreal! In all of this the one thing that stands true is the music for its a huge part of the game be it used to pump up the crowd or a goal is scored we all know the songs.

This year's Bleacher Report Top 2011 Hockey songs are:

1. Blur, Song 2
2. Guns N' Roses, Welcome to The Jungle
3. Kernkraft 400, Zombie Nation (Boston Song)
4. DaRude, Sandstorm
5. Stompin Tom Connors, The Hockey Song
6. The Zambonis, I Want To Drive The Zamboni
7. Queen, We Will Rock You
8. Metallica, Enter Sandman
9. 2Unlimited, Get Ready For This
10. Gary Glitter, Rock N Roll Part 2

Though the list looks like the same one from past years from many surveys it has the main ones. Some missed songs in my opinion and a must for this year season "We're Not going to take it - Twisted Sister" "Raise A Little Hell – Trooper " " 'Rammstein, "Du Hast".

Many songs that didn't make the list but are classics - "Thunderstruck - ACDC" "We're gonna win - Brian Adams" " Black Betty - Ram Jam" Crazy Train – Ozzy Osborne" "Walk this Way - Aerosmith" "Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana". Some newer songs "Bleed it out - Linkin Park" (damn good song and amazing band) and "The White Stripes, "Seven Nation Army". We hear these songs and you know you are at a hockey game.
Although the hockey has been dirty on BOTH sides the music stays authentic. Hockey Night in Canada Theme is a Classic, along "Stompin Tom Connors, The Hockey Song" remind us the essence of hockey. Which this year has failed and is nothing to be proud of as a whole but only respect for a few "good players".
For all the young hockey players it may be old but it is a song to remind you and your parents why you are up so early to make all those practises "Tom Cochrane - Big league" If that's too old for you a personal favourite "Remember the Name & High Road (maybe a few players could take a hint) - Fort Minor". Look at this year how many young people are playing for the cup. Anything is possible but classics last in sports and music one way - Play Clean, and be better than what you see, most of all keep dreaming. Most of all stick true to the game of hockey and its music.

Diva Time - Katy Perry's True Colors

Wow Katy Perry has fell in to the stardom role with great ease - so much for being down to earth and a good role model for little girls. From the type of detailed food in her room, no eye contact, and to what type of fridge she requires, Katy has reached the ranks of being another whiny picky diva without the talent or sales of other Diva's out there.

According to the smoking guns copies if the rider:

* She requires "white and purple hydrangeas, pink and white roses, and peonies," or, as a second choice, a “selection of seasonal white flowers to include white orchids.” But! And this part is underlined: "ABSOLUTELY NO CARNATIONS."

* Her dressing room must be outfitted with two cream-colored egg chairs, a "perspex modern style" coffee table, two "French ornate style" lamps , and a glass-doored refrigerator (average price range of fridge $1400 - $7400 US).

* Chauffeurs, the rider notes, are not allowed to “start a conversation w/ the client.” Wheelmen are similarly barred from conversing with Perry’s guests or fans. They also are directed not to stare at the backseat through the rear view mirror. Drivers should also not “ask for autographs or pictures, and especially not while driving!” Finally, Perry’s ride should be outfitted with four water bottles.

* The rider also alerts promoters that they may be required to hold back tickets for concerts so that Perry & Co. can provide the ducats to “resellers” for “distribution to the public” on the “secondary market.” In other words, Perry reserves the right to pocket some of the proceeds from the sale of tickets--not made available at face price to her fans--scalped at inflated prices by these brokers.

So Katy thinks she's is in the likes of Madonna "all the seats on her toilets must not just be hygienically clean, but they must also be brand new so her arse is the first to sit on them." Cher's "own dressing room for her wigs;  temperature controled" , or Princes “All items in dressing room must be covered by clear plastic wrap until uncovered by main artist. This is absolutely necessary.”

By far one plays the role of being down to earth and a good role model (since posing topless inspires little girls every where in a good way, "sarcasm"), then one shouldn't be a "greedy princess" on top of it. Even the queen does not deserve "no eye contact" but hey Katy thinks she is better than the queen of England literally. I highly doubt this rider makes her perform any better nor have I ever thought she was a good role model. This proves her true colors and what I have though of her all along but people then we wonder why some little girls are they way they are.

The Airborne Toxic Event – “Changing”

The Airborne Toxic Event (TATE) have done it again. They have managed to create another classic indie rock song that will be hummed by people for years to come.

The track titled “Changing” is off the band’s new album All at Once. The song has the signature sound of TATE with a catchy guitar riff and soothing vocals. As for the music video, things get even better. Just to remind us of what they have done, TATE start off the video with a three second segment of their hit song, “Sometime Around Midnight,” and then it is abruptly changed on the radio. Then the new track kicks right off, showing that TATE have significantly evolved as a band.

The video/performance takes place in an old styled bar and the customers and employees at the place clap and dance to the whole song, wearing classic black suits and suspenders. The dancing is also just out of this world as the people are flipping, spinning and diving over one another. And for those kinaesthetic learners out there, before the last verse there is a bar-wide clap and tap break down that’ll have you getting up from your seat.

Now the music video is not only a simple performance, but it really shows TATE having fun and enjoying their own music while others enjoy it at the same time. And so will you!
